Our sold-out concert. "The Magic of Christmas", performed on Saturday 6th December at Church of the Good Shepherd, Pyrford, raised a whopping £1,490.21 for Maggie's Centres, thanks to the amazing generosity of our audience.
With a packed audience, the evening was filled with festive sparkle and a real sense of celebration. Under the direction of Hugh Beckwith, and accompanied on piano by Emelia Noack-Wilkinson, the choir presented a rich and varied programme of seasonal favourites - complete with a simply gorgeous solo performance of a Christmas classic by the choir's MD, Hugh.
We were delighted that the Mayor of Woking, Cllr Amanda Boote, and her consort, David Walsh, joined us for the evening.
Rachel Day, Cancer Support Specialist at Maggie’s, delivered a truly inspiring speech on the night, and says:
“It was a wonderful evening full of beautiful performances, festive cheer, and an incredible sense of community. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, an amazing £1,490.21 was raised for our centre, helping us continue to provide vital support to people living with cancer, and their family and friends.”
