**
Competition Draw Announcement **
Thank you ALL for supporting our Win-A-Flat
competition in the way that you did! As of 2pm on April 16th we have
sold 531 tickets which is a valiant effort on the part of all concerned.
Unfortunately, we did not manage to sell the 10,000 tickets we hoped to
to make the competition viable. As we did not sell enough tickets to
cover our expenses in acquiring the property, and in accordance with the
rules of the competitionn*, the Executive
Committee of the Elmbridge Community Music Society Charity has decided to declare a CASH PRIZE to the
winner.
We are pleased to announce that the draw will take place at our concert
tomorrow evening (17th April) by the Mayor of Elmbridge, and the winner will receive a cash
prize of at least £3,500**.
Here at the Elmbridge Music Society, we always work so hard to help make money for other
deserving charities that we sometimes
forget how deserving our own charity is, and so the Exco
have also decided, in accordance with the rules, to allocate no more
than 25% of the net proceeds to the Elmbridge Music Charity
staging and performance fund - this means that we will receive
£1,151.23 - money which can immediately be used
to pay for the sound system which we recently acquired on loan
and which we so desperately need for our concerts.
In the interests of full transparency, the Exco have decided to publish how the prize fund was calculated:
- Ticket
Sales £ 5,310.00 (total of 531 tickets)
- Less
ticket
printing costs paid to our printer: £658.77
- Total
cash in
hand from competition: £ £ 4,651.23
- TOTAL
PRIZE
DECLARED: £ 3,500
- Donation to Elmbridge Music Charity: £
1,151.23
(24.75%)
Should any more tickets be sold between now and April 17th at 12pm
these will be added to the prize fund and the donation to
Elmbridge
Music in the ratio 75:25
Once
more, thank you and congratulations on a job well done and for contributing to help
make our Music Society a better place for all!
May we take this
opportunity to wish all of you who have entered the best of British
Luck for the draw tomorrow!
* Full terms
and conditions are available at www.elmbridgechoir.co.uk/win.html at the bootom of this page
**
Should
we sell or, receive more
funds from tickets sold by members who have not yet returned their
tickets, between 2pm today and 12pm tomorrow, the prize fund will rise
by 75p in every Pound we receive in that time.
